Managing Family and Relationships
Every relationship and every family is different and what works for one will not necessarily work for another. The keys are balance, honesty, hard work, and remembering what's important to you. Below are things that some of your colleagues have done or would advise in order to help you stay balanced as a medical student.
- For those with kid(s), it seems to help to stick to a regular schedule. Kids are great about forcing you to remember that life is bigger than medical school, and intentionally setting aside specific times during the day and week to spend with spouse/significant other/kids forces you to acknowledge this.
